At the heart of our store is the Prologue Service Centre, run by qualified CyTech mechanics. Each of our mechanics has extensive experience of the cycling industry, including servicing bikes for a number of the UK's top athletes.
Our staff are highly qualified and professional, and treat every bike as if it were their own. In fact, they won't let a bike leave the service centre in any condition other than one they would be happy to ride themselves!
When you drop the bike into the store, it will be assessed by one of our mechanics who will check your requirements. We will take your contact details so that we can call you during the job if any changes to the specification arise and/or if further costs are to be incurred.
To add to your convenience, we endeavor to turn the bike around on the day it has been booked in. All pick-up times can be discussed in store to suit your plans.
You can book your bike in for a service by giving us a ring on 0208 878 6266 or by calling into the shop. Our service centre is open Monday to Friday (closed Saturday and Sunday).
We recommend that a bike that is being heavily used has a standard service once every six months.
There are three service options available, full details are listed below:
Standard Service (takes 30-40 mins) - £40.00
Visual inspection of complete bike.
Assess wear of parts, chain, cassette, brake pads, cables etc.
Brakes adjusted for correct operation.
Gears adjusted for correct operation.
Check all fixing bolts and tighten to manufacturer’s specification.
Inspection of tyres and inflate to recommended PSI.
Clean and lubricate bike.
Full Service (takes 60-120 mins) - £65.00
Visual inspection of complete bike.
Assess wear of parts, chain, cassette, brake pads, cables etc.
Check and adjustment of headset, regrease as required.
Remove, clean and service derailleurs, chainset, chain and cassette.
Remove and clean the bottom bracket, regrease and refit.
Brakes adjusted for correct operation.
Gears adjusted for correct operation.
Remove seat post, clean and regrease.
Remove pedals, clean regrease and refit
Check all fixing bolts and tighten to manufacturer’s specification.
Remove wheels, true tension and clean. Regrease as required
Inspection of tyres and inflate to recommended PSI.
Clean and lubricate bike.
Platinum Service (takes 180 mins) - £130.00
Full strip down and rebuild complete bike.
Visual inspection of complete bike.
Assess wear of parts, chain, cassette, brake pads, cables etc.
Removal of forks and headset. Regrease, refit and adjust accordingly.
Remove, clean and service derailleurs, chainset, chain and cassette.
Fully service clean and lubricate brake calipers
Fully clean and service STI gear levers.
Remove and clean the bottom bracket, regrease and refit.
Clean and retap the bottom bracket threads.
Brakes adjusted for correct operation.
Gears adjusted for correct operation.
Remove seat post, clean and regrease.
Remove pedals, clean regrease and refit
Check all fixing bolts and tighten to manufacturers specification.
Remove wheels, true tension and clean. Regrease as required
Strip down, re-grease and adjust both hubs.
Inspection of tyres and inflate to recommended PSI.
Clean and lubricate bike.
